Arcmark: Arc Browser's Sidebar for Any Browser
Arcmark: Arc Browser’s Sidebar for Any Browser
Arc browser reimagined how we manage tabs and bookmarks with its innovative sidebar and workspace organization. But what if you love that workflow but need to use Safari for work, Chrome for development, or Brave for privacy? Arcmark solves this by bringing Arc’s signature sidebar experience to any browser—or using it standalone as a powerful bookmark manager.
Built as a native macOS app using Swift and AppKit, Arcmark floats as a sidebar that attaches to any browser window using macOS accessibility APIs. It follows your browser around, giving you instant access to workspace-organized bookmarks no matter which browser you’re using.
Key Features
🪟 Universal Browser Support
Arcmark isn’t tied to a single browser. It works seamlessly with:
- Chrome
- Safari
- Brave
- Arc (yes, even Arc itself)
- Any other macOS browser
Or use it standalone as a regular bookmark manager window when you need it.
📂 Workspace-Based Organization
Just like Arc, Arcmark uses a workspace-first approach to bookmark management:
- Workspaces: Create dedicated spaces for different contexts (Work, Personal, Research, etc.)
- Nested Folders: Organize bookmarks hierarchically within workspaces
- Custom Colors: Assign colors to workspaces for quick visual identification
- Drag-and-Drop: Reorder bookmarks and folders with intuitive drag-and-drop
📥 Import from Arc
Switching from Arc? Arcmark can recreate your exact setup:
- Parses Arc’s
StorableSidebar.jsondirectly - Recreates your workspace and folder structure
- Imports pinned tabs and spaces
- Preserves your carefully curated organization
🔒 Local-First Architecture
Your data stays yours:
- All bookmarks stored in a single JSON file:
~/Library/Application Support/Arcmark/data.json - No accounts required
- No cloud sync
- No telemetry or tracking
- Full data portability
🎯 Smart Window Attachment
Arcmark uses macOS accessibility APIs to:
- Float alongside any browser window
- Automatically follow the active browser window
- Maintain position relative to browser chrome
- Work without interfering with browser functionality
Platforms
Arcmark is built specifically for macOS:
- 🍎 macOS 13+ (Ventura and later)
